SAN JOSE, California– July 16, 2025: Frore Systems today announced that AirJet, its breakthrough solid-state active cooling chip, is making possible the Sonim MegaConnect™ — the world’s first Power Class 1, ultra compact 5G mobile hotspot for frontline emergency response that is available for use on FirstNet®, Builtwith AT&T—America’s only network built with and for first responders.
Co-developed by Sonim Technologies, AT&T, and Frore Systems for public safety, the MegaConnect is designed to address the unique connectivity needs of mission-critical users, as a part of the FirstNet MegaRange™ HPUE portfolio. Giving public safety a mobile connectivity solution that delivers superior coverage to areas beyond the reach of traditional cellular networks, it has 6x the transmission power of standard hotspots because it runs on Band 14—nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet— and additional connectivity via AT&T 5G and LTE commercial spectrum bands. One-third the size of other HPUE devices available today and easily able to fit in the palm of your hand, the MegaConnect allows first responders to stay connected – wherever the mission takes them.

Current Power Class 1 devices weigh up to 5.85 kg and require a large bulky case. By comparison, the MegaConnect weighs just 448 grams and fits in the palm of your hand, all with a fully self-contained hotspot with a built-in battery, integrated high-performance antenna and a rugged design that is resistant to shocks, drops, and dust with MIL-STD-810H and IP53 ratings.

The MegaConnect, the industry’s first HPUE mobile hotspot, weighs only 15.8 ounces (448 grams) with a compact volume of just 406cm3 (5.39 x 3.94 x 1.17 in), is significantly lighter and smaller than all other HPUE solutions available today.
